You can easily search for a passenger name for free, but for a small donation of $45 you can help to maintain the website and the Immigration History Center located in New York. In fact, this website even offers you a way to inscribe your ancestor' s name on the immigrant wall at Ellis Island, preserving your family history for years to come.
