My question is does anyone know if I
live in l.a CA. would I be able to sue
a Methadone Clinic and/or the Doctors
responsible there for the wrongful
death of my ex boyfriend(up till his
death good friend)? Do I have to be
related or married to be able to sue
for wrongfuldeath/medical malpractice
or can I sue if him and I were now just
great friends? He died the end part of
last March and a toxicology report was
done and or autopsy and it was shown
that he died from an overdose of
Methadone being present and no other
hard drugs/alcohol and I dont think any
traces of any other medications were
even in the report. He had Asthma for
one thing and I believe when I looked
online that it said Methadone is not
even suppose to be used by people that
have that condition.I spoke to a girl
that was with him at his death and a
few hours before that she had drove him
to the Methadone Clinic and she had
stated to me that she had waited
outside in her car for him while he
went inside and he was in and out of
there within ten to fgifteen minutes
max.. They had Ibelieved upped his
dosage too that day, she had stated or
his Mom had told me. I heard that even
if they had not upped his dose that
they are still suppose to monitor the
patient for about a half hour or so at
least, after given this medication! His
Mother has gotten an Attorney, but she
doesnt say too much about whats going
on with it but his whole life really
his whole family, well most of the
members really just used him for
whatever money he did get or have and
he didn't even trust them enough to get
his mail at their house, he would have
it sent to my address because he would
get checks in the mail sometimes.I know
he would of wanted mostly me to benefit
if anyone was going to or unfortunatly
had to in his case. I hear these
clinics kill alot of people as of the
last few years due to the faster they
get people in and out the more patients
they get and the more money they make
due to increased patients. That is truly
sad.Thank you, Gail G.
